ICE Strömungsforschung GmbH
Innovative Computational Engineering or simply ICE was founded February 2006 in Leoben, Austria. ICE is the result of seven years intensive research on flow and combustion simulation at the Christian-Doppler Laboratory for Applied Computational Thermofluiddynamics lead by Professor Brandstätter at the University of Leoben, Austria. CDL-ACT participated in several FP6 research projects (SYLOC-DEXA, IMITEC and VIRTUALFIRES) and coordinated the STYFF-DEXA project. All key researchers of CDL-ACT have moved to the University spin-off company ICE. Today ICE has 5 employees who are performing software development on microstructure simulations in porous media using unique material characterisation algorithms based on statistical functions and the OpenSource software OpenFOAM®.
